Guildford v RN Fixture 8 May 10 Cancelled

The Guildford Smoke have cancelled their challenge fixture against the RN at the Guildford Spectrum on 8 May due to Summer Cup commitments.  Another opponent is being sought for this week-end.

RN lose 9-5 to Titans

One of the best recreational teams in the southern UK travelled to Gosport on Sun 11 Apr to take on the Navy at home.  The Navy were hoping to extend their winning streak to 7 but they were without top players Hankins and Cameron for the first time since they lost to  Cardiff in Wales on 31 Oct last year.  The RN took an early lead and played well for the first 30 minutes of the game although there were quite a lot of missed opportunities against the Cardiff goal.  It was 3-1 Navy 10...

Navy Development team Scrimmage Against Local Rec Players

The Navy and Gosport Spartans training sessions were dedicated to 2 scrimmages for Navy and Portsmouth local novice and intermediate players this week.  The friendly informal games provided ice-time to those who do not get the chance to play for the Navy representative squad but still show great commitment and dedication in attending the majority of the training sessions.  Both games were very close and provided players with the opportunity to get some quality puck handling time and the...

Navy defeat Army 6-2 in Close Game at Bracknell

The Royal Navy representative squad travelled to the John Nike Leisure Centre in Bracknell to take on the British Army on Thu 25 Mar in an Inter-Service clash organised to help raise funds for the Chelsea Pensioners, BLESMA and the Royal Navy Benevolent Trust.  It was the first meeting between the 2 sides since the 1-1 draw during the Inter-Service Championships in Bracknell last June.

Navy Squeeze Past Scorpions 10-9

The RN fought back from a 7-1 deficit to edge the 'visiting' Scorpions 10-9 last Saturday at Planet Ice Gosport. The game saw the Scorpions take advantage of the home side's poor defensive play (including 4 own goals much to the chagrin of Navy keeper Alex Winfield) to build up what looked like an insurmountable 6 goal lead half-way through the 2nd.
