One of the best recreational teams in the southern UK travelled to Gosport on Sun 11 Apr to take on the Navy at home. The Navy were hoping to extend their winning streak to 7 but they were without top players Hankins and Cameron for the first time since they lost to Cardiff in Wales on 31 Oct last year. The Navy and Gosport Spartans training sessions were dedicated to 2 scrimmages for Navy and Portsmouth local novice and intermediate players this week. The Royal Navy representative squad travelled to the John Nike
Leisure Centre in Bracknell to take on the British Army on Thu 25
Mar in an Inter-Service clash organised to help raise funds for the
Chelsea Pensioners, BLESMA and the Royal Navy Benevolent
Trust. It was the first meeting between the 2 sides since the
1-1 draw during the Inter-Service Championships in Bracknell last

The RN fought back from a 7-1 deficit to edge the 'visiting' Scorpions 10-9 last Saturday at Planet Ice Gosport. The game saw the Scorpions take advantage of the home side's poor defensive play (including 4 own goals much to the chagrin of Navy keeper Alex Winfield) to build up what looked like an insurmountable 6 goal lead half-way through the 2nd.
