The published RN fixture schedule has had to be curtailed as civilian recreational teams have had to drop our proposed challenge matches in favour of Summer Cup games. Attempts to get replacement matches have not been successful due to the lack of ice time at many venues (once again due to Summer Cup). There are 5-6 competitions currently running in the UK which places great pressure on the limited ice available to many teams in the South. The Navy's Intermediate and Novice skaters travelled to Planet Ice Peterborough to take on the RAF Eastern Crusade in another friendly development match aimed at promoting the sport within the services. The RN hosted the Bristol Mad Dogs at Gosport on Sat 24 Apr. The game would see the RN borrow Army goalie Lisa Weston again with all 3 Navy keepers unavailable. Despite falling behind 5-0, the RN would rallye with 5 goals in the second to tie the game at 5 apiece after 40 min.
